A METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO ASSESSING THE LEVEL OF ECONOMIC SECURITY OF ENTERPRISES IN THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR OF THE ECONOMY IN THE CONTEXT OF SYSTEMIC CHALLENGES AND INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT TRENDS

This article substantiates the need to ensure the economic security of oil and gas enterprises in the face of uncertainty and the influence of aggressive and dynamically changing external factors. Based on an analysis of the financial performance of large oil and gas companies, the authors identify key development trends, as well as systemic challenges facing the industry, which pose a threat to ensuring the required or acceptable level of economic security. For oil and gas companies, the implementation of digital technologies is one of the factors ensuring economic security, competitiveness, and market stability in a rapidly changing external environment. This article examines the main methods for assessing the level of economic security of oil and gas enterprises. Given the accelerating digital transformation of oil and gas enterprises, it is proposed to supplement M.M. Gamzatova’s indicative system for assessing the level of economic security of oil and gas enterprises with a digital transformation indicator calculated based on indicators for assessing the company’s digital maturity and technology innovativeness. The practical application of the proposed methodology will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the economic security system of oil and gas enterprises in the context of digital transformation.
